Join the UTC History Club for the viewing of "The Martha Mitchell Effect" (2022) in celebration of President's Day!

This documentary centers around Martha Mitchell, wife of a US Attorney General during Richard Nixon's administration. She is most well-known for speaking out against Richard Nixon during the Watergate controversy; however, Nixon's administration attempted to silence and discredit her by framing Mitchell as mentally ill and delusional in order to eliminate her credibility. This has led to the "Martha Mitchell Effect" being coined, which describes someone who is misdiagnosed with a mental disorder and characterized as delusional despite their perception of reality being correct. 

"The Martha Mitchell Effect" was released in 2022, as was nominated for Best Documentary Short Film at the 95th Academy Awards. Additionally, it has also received a 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes. Come hear Martha Mitchell's true story!
