About the Election Preparation Series

As we approach a critical time in our democratic process, it is important that our university community explore ways to increase civic participation, foster productive dialogue and find common ground. Over the coming weeks, several events are being held as part of the Election Preparation Series. The series kicks off this evening with an event highlighting the role of higher education in promoting civil discourse and engaging diverse perspectives and the value of understanding opposing views in a polarized world. We hope you will join us!

Highlights from this session:

  • Learn about early voting and requesting an adsentee ballot.
  • Understand how state laws affect how votes are counted and what this means for election day and beyond.
  • Learn how recent events may complicate the electoral process in battleground states.

Future Sessions:

The Election Preparation Series continues with several panels featuring members of the Political Science and Public Service department who will discuss issues related to the voting process, election administration, and the current dynamics of the presidential and congressional campaigns.
