Join the Mid-South Symphonic Band for An Afternoon of Music, a free concert offering energy, charm, and memorable artistry for audiences of all ages. This program presents a thoughtfully curated blend of classical repertoire, contemporary works, and engaging showpieces that highlight the full color and versatility of the ensemble.

The Mid-South Symphonic Band is especially honored to feature Master Gunnery Sergeant Fred Lemmons, USMC Retired. A Chattanooga native and graduate of Brainerd High School and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, Mr. Lemmons served with great distinction for 21 years in “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band in Washington, D.C. His presence brings exceptional musicianship and distinguished service to this special performance.

Throughout the afternoon, the audience will experience a wide musical spectrum—from powerful orchestral selections to jazz‑inspired features and beloved marches—capturing elegance, warmth, humor, and expressive depth.

Whether you are a longtime supporter of the ensemble or attending for the first time, this concert offers something for every listener. Bring family, friends, and all who appreciate outstanding live music—An Afternoon of Music promises to be a memorable celebration of performance at its finest.
